Description

Bellatrix + LBN881 (Ori) - Sideshow

None of the famous, well known targets in the constellation Orion but rather a sideshow: The right side shoulder star  of Orion, Bellatrix, is embedded in several bright nebulae (LBN), molecule clouds and dust. Emission and reflective nebulae create a colorful landscape with lots of details to discover.

However, I have no idea where the bright blue beam that appears to run right through Bellatrix comes from. It must be an artifact - does anyone know how something like this could come about?
